Little Sprouts - Leighton's Second Chapter

Some of our favorite parties start with nothing more than a simple idea.

Leighton's birthday is the perfect example.

This celebration was actually originally scheduled for her sibling. But when plans changed, Mom reached out to see if we could transfer the party instead. At Little Sprouts, we know life happens, and whenever we're able, we try to make those moments a little less stressful. Thanks to our flexible booking policies, we were able to move everything over so Leighton could have a celebration all her own.

When Mom told us the theme, she simply said:

"Leighton's Second Chapter."

There wasn't a Pinterest board or a long list of inspiration photos. Just a title—and complete trust in us to bring it to life.

We couldn't wait.

Creating Leighton's Story

The first piece we designed was a giant book page number "2," handcrafted from dozens of vintage book pages. It became the centerpiece of the party room and perfectly captured the feeling of opening a brand-new chapter.

From there, we carried the book theme throughout the space with scattered book pages, custom signage, and soft pink details that kept everything feeling sweet, playful, and age-appropriate.

One of our favorite pieces was the oversized "Leighton's Second Chapter" sign, framed with layered book pages to tie the entire room together. It was simple, whimsical, and made the perfect backdrop for photos throughout the party.

Adding a Little Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

While the overall party celebrated Leighton's "second chapter," we wanted to create an activity just for the birthday girl.

Because who doesn't love Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, we created a themed sensory station inspired by the classic children's book.

Black beans became the perfect sensory base while colorful foam letters invited little guests to dig, sort, spell, and play. We finished the station with tropical leaves and a custom "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Leighton is Two" sign that tied the activity back to the story.

It was one of those details that gave the children something fun to explore while also making the theme feel personal to Leighton.

Full Decorating, Customized for Their Family

Leighton's family chose our Full Decorating Package, allowing us to completely transform the party space before guests arrived. To personalize the celebration even further, they also added a custom sensory experience designed specifically for Leighton.

Their celebration included:

Soft pink and ivory balloon installations with oversized bows
Vintage book page details woven throughout the décor
